In Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, he strongly admonished the church (not the man) because they had not acted against the evil man that had his father's wife. They tolerated the evil, thus Paul came against them. They were held to a high standard. They were to enforce God's precepts. They were to call out evil.
Although this occurred outside of the church, it is still evil. The prevailing though is: "what do they see?" What is it that the police see? We see the young, unarmed man, kneeling, hands on is head. What is it that the police see that would cause such a reaction?
Secondarily, what is the good thing for us to do if we see something like this in our neighborhood? Are we to passively continue our day? Are we to intercede?
